Detailed Itinerary
Your adventure begins early in Cusco as we travel through the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas toward KM 82, the official starting point of the Classic Inca Trail. Along the route, snow-capped mountains, traditional Andean villages, and ancient agricultural terraces create the perfect introduction to one of the world’s most iconic hikes.
After meeting our trekking team, including experienced porters and cooks, we begin walking along original Inca stone paths surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. The trail gently follows the Urubamba River while passing small archaeological sites such as Llaqtapata, where your guide will introduce the fascinating history of the Inca civilization.
As the sun sets behind the Andes, we arrive at Huayllabamba camp, where a freshly prepared dinner and peaceful mountain atmosphere await before the next day’s challenge.

The second day of the Classic Inca Trail is considered the most challenging and rewarding section of the entire trek. After an early breakfast, we begin ascending through cloud forests and breathtaking Andean landscapes toward Warmiwañusca, famously known as Dead Woman’s Pass.
As the altitude increases, spectacular panoramic mountain views unfold with every step. The trail becomes steeper, but the effort is rewarded upon reaching the highest point of the Inca Trail at 4,215 meters (13,828 ft).
Standing atop Dead Woman’s Pass is an unforgettable moment. Surrounded by dramatic Andean peaks and pure mountain air, hikers experience one of the most iconic achievements of the journey to Machu Picchu.
After celebrating and resting at the summit, we descend into the Pacaymayo Valley, where camp is prepared for a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay.

Day three is often considered the most beautiful day of the Classic Inca Trail. The route combines spectacular mountain scenery, cloud forests, original Inca stairways, and impressive archaeological sites hidden deep within the Andes.
After crossing the second pass, the trail descends through lush vegetation and ancient stone pathways toward Phuyupatamarca, known as “The Town Above the Clouds.” From here, breathtaking views of mist-covered valleys create unforgettable landscapes.
Continuing through tropical cloud forest ecosystems, we arrive at the remarkable archaeological site of Wiñay Wayna, one of the most impressive Inca complexes along the trail.
Tonight’s campsite is located near Wiñay Wayna, allowing hikers to rest before the highly anticipated final approach to Machu Picchu.

The final day begins before sunrise as we hike toward Inti Punku, the legendary Sun Gate of Machu Picchu. As the first morning light illuminates the ancient citadel, hikers experience one of the most magical moments of the entire journey.
From the Sun Gate, the panoramic view of Machu Picchu surrounded by mist-covered mountains is truly unforgettable. Arriving at the Lost City of the Incas on foot through the original Inca Trail creates a unique and emotional experience that few travelers ever forget.
After descending into Machu Picchu, your guide leads a complete tour of the ancient citadel, including temples, terraces, ceremonial areas, and fascinating historical insights about one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Following the guided visit, we return to Cusco by train, bringing an unforgettable Andean adventure to a close.
