Unconventional Cusco

We know that the Incas had a road network that crossed valleys, punas and snow peaks and that these were constructed in the most difficult conditions and intricate landscapes of the Andes mountain range. Today the world is familiar with the beautiful city of Cusco, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Machu Picchu and the classic 4 day Inca Trail; but is all this the true Inca Empire?

Those of us who have already been in the mountains or in places surrounded with nothing but nature can relate to the overwhelming sensation of peace that is experienced in these places, even if we can't understand the reason of these feelings. If we tried to explain them through science, we would probably find some answers in the field of genetic memory: "we belong to nature which is why in these places we have such deep and overwhelming sensations". We believe that we must start to relate more to this memory and try to understand it.

The following are some of the questions we seek to answer… How it is that the Incas knew so much about outer space?

How did they know the Earth was round? Why is it that one of the strongest civilizations in the world did not need to rely on electricity?

How come they knew about all the planets of the Milky Way and yet they never needed to waste time trying to create spaceships? The starting point to the answers is that they had developed in a different level: the spiritual level. It is the spiritual level that guided the true philosophy of their life and where TRUTH can be found, a philosophy of reciprocity, love and respect to the community.

How can we love each other or give love if we do not love our Mother Earth? We hope you can enter someday into the heart of the Peruvian Andes since in these cities and temples lies the true secret of a life in harmony.

¿Cómo podemos amarnos o dar amor si no amamos a nuestra Madre Tierra?

Décimo Pachacútec

The lost Empire of the Incas

Cusco, Machu Picchu, Saqsayhuaman, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, are some of the Inca cities known by the world, but how many more exist? And where are they? We have some of the answers… The city of Cusco as we know it is only half of a great buried city. How can we speak of it without mentioning the other half, and where it is buried? It is right underneath our eyes, we just need to narrow our senses to be able to see it.

Destroyed pyramids within this city? Where? What happened to all the empire's silver and gold?

What energies where handled by the Incas? How involved in the spiritual field were they? Why are dimensional doors within the Tahuantisuyo mentioned?

To understand the life and philosophy of the Inca Empire we need to start asking ourselves certain questions. How is it that they moved those great stones, some of them weighing up to 125 tons, without having any heavy machinery? How did they know that the Earth was round? How did they know so much the about the Milky Way? How did they learn about pyramidal structures? At what level did they work with the energy on the Earth? Who was their God? Which sacred plants did they work with? Why did they relate to the condor, the puma and the serpent? Why did they base their empire's system in reciprocity? The best way to answer these questions is to live, at least for a moment, as they did, to walk through their trails, observing their architectonic works and coexisting with the people who still conserve the customs of this indigenous race.

We belong to the Earth and there is where we will rest.

"… Seeing the condor with its majestic flight crossing the mountains as the only connoisseur of what once happened on these lands…"

Cusco is the capital of the Inca Empire, there you can breathe its energy and mysticism and witness the mixture between the Spanish and the native race, the colonial houses constructed over the foundations of the ancient Inca city, are a clear example of this symbiosis.

Cusco, also called the world's navel, is a city full of history. The great dimensions of this 'Empire of the Sun' can be seen in its surroundings, cities, temples, enclosures, roads, hydraulic systems, most still swallowed by Mother Earth as evidence of the empire's greatness.

The Empire's limits reached Quito (Ecuador) at the north, Bolivia at the east, the Maule River in Chile at the south, the Pacific Ocean at the west, and some authors assure that the Incas arrived to other continents by the marine route.

Some conquerors mentioned that the Tahuantinsuyo territory had approximately 1'800,000 km2 covered by roads made of rocks, all connected as a spider web. When the Spaniards arrived to this continent, they commented on the superiority of these roads in comparison to the Romans, these crossed snow peaks, steep summits, desserts and the entangled forest, an impressive human workforce put together to achieve this great architectonic and engineering masterpiece; all of it leading to the great cities. And what to say of these cities!

Constructed all of stone after a very delicate carving work as we can see in Machu Picchu, Saqsayhuaman, Ollantaytambo and others still buried, part of a great unrevealed mystery.

In this text I want to reveal a Cusco not yet known by the world, with trails and cities still unknown by the general public. Inca Trails of 4, 10, 15, 20 days and even months, that connect cities such as Choquequirao located in the limit of Cusco with Abancay, Vitcos capital of the Vilcabamba Empire, Espiritu Pampa where you arrive after following Inca trails that pass through snow and mountains. These trails show us at what level the architecture of the Inca Empire bonded with nature and make us think about the respect they had towards Mother Earth, since they were able to build great cities without altering their ecosystems. The biodiversity that can be observed in this inter-Andean range is impressive, condors, andean bears, foxes and quails, vizcachas, birds, many types of butterflies, orchids, great variety of flowers, mosses and soil that paint the landscape in a beautiful range of colors that seem a dream, but here in the Andes of Peru everything is real.
