Inca Hanging Bridge “Queswachaca” full day
Itinerary:
We will leave Cusco early and during the journey we will observe the Pomacanchi Lake – Urcos and Yanaoca, where we will visit a small volcano and ABRA of the same name. When we arrive at Queswachaca (3,600 meters above sea level) we will have the opportunity to visit their ancestral bridge which is a tangible example of Incan architecture. This construction is located above the majestic river Apurimac in the province of Canas and is governed by the agricultural communities of Perccaro, Huinchi, and Qqewe. The dimensions of the bridge are 33 meters long and 1.20 meters wide, the only material used is straw of the wild Andean flat lands, like braided straw “ichu.” |

In the afternoon we will return to Cusco, but before we will visit the impressive Caves of Ccarañahui (3,900 meters above sea level). This is a fantastic cavern of marine sediment material, whose chemical composition of calcium hydrochloride, due to the constant dripping, has formed impressive stalagmites, resulting in forms of the puma, condor, and full of stalactites and stalagmites, dating back thousands of years, and at the back of the cave we are able to appreciate a mysterious lake. Later we will return to Cusco in our private car. |
